 Open MegaRAID Storage Manager 

 Log into your Server 

 In the Dashboard, click on “Physical” 

 

 

 4. Right click on your Controller and select “Set Patrol Read Properties” 

 

 5. Configure the Patrol Read Properties here

 Preparations 

 

 Uninstall all previous Versions of  MegaRAID Storage Manager 

 Uninstall all previous Versions and Variants of  LSI Storage Authority 

 

 

 OpenJDK Setup 

 

 Create Directory:  C:\OpenJDK8 

 Unzip Content of  OpenJDK8U-jdk_x64_windows_hotspot_8u452b09.zip  into  C:\OpenJDK 

 Open  Advanced System Settings 

 Select  Advanced  and click  Environment Variables 

 At  System Variables  click New

 

 Name:  JRE_HOME 

 Value:  C:\OpenJDK8 

 

 

 

 Done! 

 Note: The Content of C:\OpenJDK8 should directly include Folders like bin ,  lib  and  include 

 

 Install MegaRAID Storage Manager 

 

 Unzip the downloaded Folder somewhere on your Machine 

 Launch setup.exe 

 Click through until you get to  Setup Type 

 Select  Complete Installation 

 On the  LDAP Logon Information  Page select  No  and click  Next 

 Leave Key Size on Default Setting ( 2048 ) 

 Set  Configure Range of Events to Generate Alert Notifications  to  Since Last Reboot 

 Finish the Installation 

 

 

 Common Issues 

 Host / Controller not being detected 

 The most likely Issue is that the Controller Driver is out of Date. 

 

 Open Windows Device Manager (Windows-Key+X → Device Manager) 

 Go to “Storage Controllers” and look for  AVAGO MegaRAID […] 

 Double-Click and go to Details 

 Select Property  Hardware-IDs  and use the first one to search for the correct Drive 

 

 You most likely get the Driver without a Installer. For the Installation  see here
